Kara Williams, CPA

Kara Williams was raised in many countries because her father worked in the oil field industry. She graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a major in accounting from Adams State College in Alamosa, CO, where she graduated summa cum laude.

She started working for Jim in 1995 and received her CPA in 1996. Kara has a State CPA certification in New Mexico.

Linda McClelland, CPA

Linda McClelland received a degree as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the College of Santa Fe in 1986. She lived in Los Alamos for 26 years before moving to Durango, CO in 2006.

While in Los Alamos, Linda worked for Reinhardt A Quelle, CPA for 16 years (one year with Jean Jones CPA, and one year with the University of New Mexico Cancer Center). She was hired by our firm in 2004. Linda has a State CPA certification from New Mexico and Colorado and she is a member of the AICPA, New Mexico Society of CPAs, and Colorado Society of CPAs.

Linda and her husband, John, split their time between homes in Scottsdale, AZ and Durango, CO, and she works remotely from either of the homes. Linda specializes in preparation and review of businesses, trusts, and personal taxes.

Jian Xu, CPA

Jian Xu, CPA has been working on taxation and accounting since 2004, when she joined our firm. Jian has a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Nanjing University, a Master of Philosophy degree in Management from the University of Hong Kong, and a degree in Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Houston.

Jian has been a CPA in the state of New Mexico and a member of the AICPA since 2008. She has also been a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma since 2002.

Judy Frey, Staff Accountant

Judy Frey attended college at the Oklahoma State University. She focused her education in accounting, business, and secretarial courses. Judy has over 30 years of work experience in the construction, manufacturing, and oil and gas industry, with seven of those years as a controller.

Judy prepares bookkeeping, payroll, quarterly payroll reports, and financial reports for over 15 of our clients. Judy and her husband, Joe, moved to Los Alamos from Las Vegas, NV in 2010. They both love living in a small town nestled in the mountains where hiking is abundant.

Linda Lunsford, Senior Accountant

Linda Lunsford has a Mathematics and Accounting degree from the West Texas State University. Linda and her husband, Wayne, moved to Los Alamos in 1981. She worked as the bookkeeper and office manager for Dr. H. Leon Clendenen for over 10 years before coming to our firm in 1998.

She is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. She oversees bookkeeping preparation for many of our clients and also prepares tax returns. Linda is a very outgoing person and has developed great relationships with many of our clients.

Linda went to part-time employment in 2012 so that she could spend more time with her three children and seven grandchildren. She also enjoys sewing, crochet, and crafts.

Susan Kestell, Senior Accountant

Susan Kestell received her degree as a Bachelor of Accountancy from the New Mexico State University in 1981. She worked as the bookkeeper for an independent insurance agency for 10 years before she was hired by Jim in 1991.

She has worked part-time preparing bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statements for a variety of clients. Over the years, she has also helped Jim prepare letters of response to the Internal Revenue Service as well as various state agencies.

She and her husband have lived in Los Alamos for over 35 years and have raised their two sons here. Since her husband is a minister at a local church, she brings an understanding of non-profit organizations to the firm.
